Located northeast of the Charlotte metropolitan area, Concord was first settled in 1750. The name “Concord” means harmony.
In 2000, the City of Concord implemented the “Partnerships for Stronger
Neighborhoods” program. This program is designed to enhance the lives of
residents in the neighborhoods in the city, increasing the quality of
both life and events for those calling Concord home. Through volunteer
city staff liaisons appointed to work directly with neighborhoods
requesting participation in the program, strong communication is
established between city government and the citizens it serves. There
are currently 39 neighborhoods participating in the program, which
contributes to making this Concord one of the most sought-after
communities for home buyers in the regional real estate market. Choices
are diverse, offering modest homes to multi-million dollar estates.
Kannapolis is a thriving city of 43,000 located along the I-85 corridor
just northeast of Charlotte. Kannapolis is less than 20 minutes from
I-77, Uptown Charlotte, Charlotte Douglas International Airport,

Kannapolis is home to the NC Research Campus, a $1.5 billion life
sciences hub. Built on the site of the former Cannon Mills complex, the
NC Research Campus is home to eight universities as well as major
corporations like General Mills.
